EBACE 2026 in Geneva to feature static display redesign
The European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) last week announced a «reimagined static display» for EBACE26, set in a new dedicated location at Geneva Airport and designed to deliver «the most secure, flexible and customer-focussed aircraft showcase in the event’s history». The reconfigured 40,000 sqm display area includes both airside and landside access, enabling tighter control over entry points and significantly enhancing overall security. Additionally, for the first time at EBACE, outdoor display exhibitors will also have the option to host clients in bespoke hospitality structures, allowing them to create tailored brand experiences directly on the display. Stefan Benz, CEO, EBAA, says: “EBACE26 marks a decisive step forward for the show. By relocating the static display to a dedicated site at Geneva Airport, we are giving exhibitors the freedom to build the kind of premium, private environment they need for their customers.
New super-midsize Gulfstream G300 takes flight
Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. last week announced the new Gulfstream G300 has made its first flight from Ben Gurion International Airport in Israel. According to Gulfstream, the G300 features the largest interior in the super-midsize segment. The spacious cabin with natural light from 10 windows can seat up to 10 passengers and includes two living areas, an appointed galley and ample room for baggage. The G300 also features the lowest cabin altitude in its class at 4,800 ft/1,463 m when flying at 41,000 ft/12,497 m, along with 100% fresh air, a standard plasma air ionization system and whisper-quiet sound levels. Its range is 3600 nm/6,667 km at Mach 0.80 or 3000 nm/5,556 km at Mach 0.84. The Honeywell HTF7250G engines and the clean, swept Gulfstream wing are optimized for fuel-efficiency.
The Harmony Flight Deck is equipped with six touch screens paired with Phase-of-Flight intelligence, a Synthetic Vision-Primary Flight Display that depicts runways and terrain in 3D imagery, and Gulfstream’s award-winning Predictive Landing Performance System. The G300 is manufactured in Israel by IAI under license for Gulfstream. Two other test aircraft are currently in production. The first deliveries could take place in 2027.
AXIS AI debriefing station
AXIS Flight Simulation has introduced the AXIS AI Debriefing Station, an automated platform designed to enhance training quality, reduce instructor workload and bring new levels of standardisation to pilot assessment. The system automatically monitors and evaluates pilot performance during training and checking, recognising flight manoeuvres, identifying the pilot flying and analysing aircraft parameters in real time. This automation allows instructors to focus fully on crew behaviour and decision-making in the cockpit, while the AI handles the detailed technical assessment.
The AXIS AI Debriefing Station can be tailored to the specific needs of an Approved Training Organisation (ATO). It enables the straightforward adoption of Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA), applying type-, SOP- and organisation-specific evaluation criteria. After each session, trainees and instructors receive a detailed data-driven evaluation accessible through an online platform on any device. Each assessment presents performance broken down by competencies, manoeuvres and observable behaviours, making it clear where a student is excelling and where further attention may be needed. For instructors, the reduction in workload is significant. The system captures what would traditionally require intensive monitoring, allowing them to concentrate on the human factors and decision-making aspects of flight training.
People: FlightSafety International appoints Eric Hinson as CEO

FlightSafety International Inc. last week announced the appointment of Eric Hinson as chief executive officer, effective immediately. Hinson will succeed former president Barbara Telek who recently announced her retirement. Hinson’s appointment marks a return to FlightSafety. He served as an executive vice president from 2009 to 2012 before leaving to be the president and CEO of Simcom International, Inc.
Hinson started his aviation career in the US Navy. After earning his wings in 1985, he spent his first tour in advanced jet training in the T/A-4J Skyhawk. After fleet tours in the A7E Corsair and F/A-18 Hornet, he was assigned to the Navy’s Operational Test Squadron, where he completed his Navy career as the Strike Fighter Branch Head responsible for all operational test programs for the F/A-18. Today, he is an active ATP-rated pilot with more than 5,000 total flight hours. He brings a unique operational perspective to the position — one that blends executive leadership with firsthand experience. In addition to FlightSafety and Simcom, Hinson has served in a variety of senior leadership positions at leading aviation companies, including Honeywell, Gulfstream, and Piaggio Aerospace. He also served as a board member of the General Aviation Manufacturer Association (GAMA) from 2013 to 2024 and Chairman in 2023. Hinson received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Anderson School at UCLA and a bachelor’s degree from Lewis and Clark College.
