The strong appeal of Geneva Airpark’s services and infrastructure

The increase of 33% over the period from January to August 2024 vs 2023 reflects the growing awareness of business aviation professionals. Protecting aircraft and their equipment from the heat of summer is also becoming a priority. Nicolas Juriens, Director of Operations, Geneva Airpark: “This trend was already noticeable in 2023, with demand for aircraft accommodation in the Geneva Airpark hangar up 137% on 2022. During the winter, business jet operators have a well-established habit of putting their aircraft under cover. This ensures optimum protection for their aircraft and avoids de-icing operations and their associated costs.” PART-145 certified Geneva Airpark, is based at Geneva Airport since 2009, offers a comprehensive range of services for business aviation. Geneva Airpark has a 10,000 sq meters hangar, which is part of 20,000 sq meters of facilities (including hangar, tarmac, offices and car parks), which are directly accessible from the runway next to Geneva Airport’s dedicated business aviation Terminal C3.

 

AMAC Aerospace is developing MRO capacity in JCB Aero in Auch, France

JCB Aero, an AMAC Aerospace Company, is now operating Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) activities at the hangar in Auch, France, which will allow to further expand their services and capabilities to existing and potential new customers. The 5’000 square meter hangar, fully refreshed, can accommodate up to 3 single aisle aircraft simultaneously and has already welcomed the first aircraft early October 2024. “The launch of the MRO activities is a major step in the development of JCB AERO. The proximity from Airbus in Toulouse, is definitely a strong advantage. One of the core business activities of JCB AERO is High end Cabin Design and Production, the customers will find the perfect place for Cabin refurbishment while the maintenance of their Aircraft is happening”, explains Frédéric Dezauzier, Chief Operating Officer, JCB Aero. A new maintenance team has been recruited for the MRO activities at JCB AERO, Auch, France. Further recruitment is underway to able to provide a team of between 20 and 30 employees, additionally. The hangar has also been equipped with new tool stores, offices for the staff and external offices for client representatives.


 

Jet Aviation Acquires Jet IN FBO Operations in Milwaukee

Jet Aviation announced that it has acquired Jet IN’s FBO and ground handling located at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE). The FBO provides handling, fuelling, and services for passengers and crew. The FBO was opened in 2023, and features a 10,000-square-foot passenger terminal, 40,000-square feet of aircraft hangarage, a 10,000-square-foot maintenance shop, and more than three acres of dedicated ramp space. With the acquisition, Jet Aviation acquires all assets of the FBO operation. “Across our network, we are continuously looking for ways to strengthen our presence and provide even more seamless connections for our customers,” said Jeremie Caillet, President, Jet Aviation. “Milwaukee allows us to offer a gateway into the Upper Midwest region in a market where we know our customers are traveling, and where we also have aircraft based. It furthers our growth in the US and supports our vision of enabling global flight, with passion, where and when our customers need us.” Milwaukee joins Jet Aviation’s network of some 30 FBOs worldwide, with 10 in the US.

 

People: New Head of Public Affairs at Skyguide: Antoinette Feh Widmer

Antoinette Feh Widmer will begin as Skyguide's new Head of Public Affairs in January 2025. In this role, she succeeds Raimund Fridrich, who has taken on a new role within the company. Antoinette Feh Widmer studied Political Science, specialising in Swiss politics, at the University of Zurich, followed by a doctorate in Swiss politics at the University of Bern, and a CAS in Public Governance & Administration at ETH Zurich. After two years in public affairs agencies, Antoinette Feh Widmer began her career at Swiss Post in Berne, where she is currently head of the Regional Politics and Communications team. In this role, she played a key role in anchoring the new “Swiss Post of tomorrow” strategy in direct dialogue with cantonal parliaments and was responsible for the public affairs process in the regions. “With her many years of national and cantonal political experience, Antoinette Feh Widmer is the right person to represent Skyguide in the political arena. I am convinced that she is an ideal addition to the communications team and I am very pleased to welcome her soon”, says Eva Maria Bieda, Chief Communications Officer at Skyguide. “I’m delighted to be part of the Skyguide family and to be building the bridge between air traffic, politics and the public as Head of Public Affairs.
