Pilatus PC-12 PRO: Safety Autoland is Certified
A completely new cockpit based on the Garmin G3000 Prime Integrated Flight Deck, featuring capabilities such as Safety Autoland, make the brand-new PC-12 PRO the most technologically advanced, best performing, most reliable aircraft in its class. The Safety Autoland system has been certified by both the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Safety Autoland is designed to handle situations involving sudden pilot incapacitation – due to a medical emergency, for example. When the activation button is pressed or when a pilot inactivity is detected, the system takes full control of the aircraft, informing all occupants that the automated landing mode has been activated. During autonomous flight, Safety Autoland takes care of all the systems required for landing – including flaps, landing gear, lighting and de-icing – and fully prepares the aircraft for the final approach. It also handles all radio communications, automatically making calls on the appropriate frequencies to keep ATC and persons on the ground informed about the situation.
Global airport passenger traffic reaches record 9.8 billion in 2025
Global airports carried a record 9.8 billion passengers in 2025, Airports Council International (ACI) World reported recently, while air cargo volumes also reached an all-time high. But momentum has cooled in 2026, with passenger growth slowing amid mounting geopolitical and economic headwinds, even as cargo continues to expand. The figures, published in ACI World's 2026 Annual World Airport Traffic Report, draw on data from 2,817 commercial airports worldwide – ACI World's largest dataset to date – capturing an estimated 97% of scheduled global passenger traffic and offering the most comprehensive picture yet of how the world moves through its airports. Air cargo reached a record 131.2 million tonnes over the year, while aircraft movements climbed to 103.1 million.

People: CAT Aviation Appoints Thomas Hauser as Chief Commercial Officer
As CAT Aviation approaches its 40th anniversary in 2027, the Swiss private aviation company is looking ahead to its next chapter with the appointment of Thomas Hauser as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). Thomas brings a background spanning business aviation, business development and luxury hospitality. Before joining CAT Aviation, he spent five years in charter brokerage and business development, including as Managing Director for the DACH region. Earlier in his career, he worked in client-facing roles within luxury hotels in London and Lucerne and studied Hospitality Business & Hotel Management at EHL.
