RUAG: PC-7 Value Retention Program

RUAG has completed the preliminary accompanying measures in the PC-7 WE value retention program on schedule. For over 40 years, the Pilatus PC-7 has formed the backbone for the basic training of the Swiss Air Force. The program aims to ensure the suitability of the fleet of 27 aircraft for deployment in the long term. Alongside the original manufacturer, Pilatus, RUAG is responsible for the implementation of

the program as a comprehensive technical partner. The completion of the preliminary accompany measures marks a central milestone, laying the foundation for the subs equant value retention and modernization phase. Within the scope of this project phase, a total of 27 PC -7 aircraft were successfully modified and handed over to the Air Force. 14 aircraft were modified by RUAG at the Lodrino site, and another 13 by Pilatus in Stans. With the successful completion of the preliminary accompanying measures, RUAG underscores its role as a reliable technology partner of the Swiss Armed Forces. The PC-7 WE retention program lays the foundation for the running of a reliable training organization for the Swiss Air Force until at least 2040.

Jet Aviation Launches Inspections by Automated Drone and AI in US

Jet Aviation announced that it has launched its automated drone and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology for non-regulated inspections in the US. The inspection reports can be used to enhance the accuracy of existing services such as Pre-Purchase-Inspections (PPIs), or inspections in insurance or warranty cases. Jet Aviation first introduced automated drone and AI technology for non-regulated inspections at its MRO hub and global headquarters in Basel, Switzerland, in 2023, in cooperation with Donecle, a provider of drone and artificial intelligence technology for the aviation industry. In 2024 the process was approved by the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) for General Visual Inspections (GVIs) by images. Offering this service in a new region is part of Jet Aviation’s continued commitment to innovation across its global network. Jet Aviation’s US-based managed and FBO customers can now utilize the technology to gain digital reports that map the exterior surface of their aircraft, for reference or for use in existing aircraft operational events such as PPI or warranty cases.

New ACI World Policy Agenda 2030

Modernizing aviation policy is critical to ensuring airports can keep pace with rising global demand, as outdated regulatory frameworks risk constraining growth, capacity, and sustainability, Airports Council International (ACI) said as it launched its Policy Agenda 2030. Airports are strategic assets for countries, supporting trade, tourism, and connectivity, and playing an increasingly important role in economic development. As demand accelerates, updated policy frameworks will be essential to enable airports to continue delivering this value. The Policy Agenda 2030 identifies four key airport industry policy priorities, aimed at modernizing aviation: Airports as Businesses, Airport Capacity Enhancement, Safety, Security and Operations and Sustainable Growth and Decarbonization. Each area presents a clear set of policy asks. Together, these priorities reflect the most critical and actionable areas within today’s global policy landscape. The Policy Agenda 2030 complements ACI World’s 2025–2030 Strategic Plan and aligns with the ICAO Strategic Plan 2026–2050, identifying the policy actions needed to unlock the full potential of airports as drivers of connectivity, sustainability, and economic transformation.
