UAE carriers have restored 44.6% of their operational levels
Air traffic across the United Arab Emirates is steadily returning to normal after regional tensions disrupted one of the world’s busiest aviation corridors. The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) confirmed that more than 1.4 million passengers travelled through UAE airports between March 1 and March 12, while 7,839 aircraft movements were recorded in the country’s airspace during the same period. UAE national carriers have already restored approximately 44.6% of their operational levels compared with the period before the recent tensions, signalling a gradual return to normal flight schedules. The Middle East is one of the most critical crossroads in global aviation. Airspace over the Gulf connects major travel markets between Europe, Asia, and Africa, making disruptions in the region quickly visible across international airline networks. During the disruption period, airlines worldwide were forced to adjust routes, increasing flight times and operational costs as aircraft avoided sensitive airspace. UAE carriers including Emirates, Etihad Airways, Flydubai, and Air Arabia have begun restoring services on key international routes.
Dassault Aviation Unveils the Falcon 10X
Dassault Aviation has rolled out the Falcon 10X on March 10th. The aircraft’s spacious interior is eight inches wider and two inches taller than its nearest competitor. The Falcon 10X will cruise at speeds approaching the sound barrier with a top speed of 0.925 Mach and has a maximum range of 7,500 nm. At a cruising altitude of 41,000 feet, cabin pressure will be maintained at an exceptionally low 3,000 feet, complemented by 100 percent fresh air continuously renewed throughout the cabin. The 10X’s entirely new fuselage comes with 38 extra-large windows
flood the cabin with natural light. Measuring 2.77 m wide and 2.03 m 6 tall, the cabin is larger than some regional jets. The Falcon 10X introduces the NeXus flight deck. A standard dual FalconEye Enhanced Vision System adds further safety and capability in low visibility. The new Pearl 10X engine features the Advance2 engine core and combines it with a high-performance low-pressure system, resulting in a superior thrust of more than 18,000 lb. With the unveiling complete, the Falcon 10X program now moves toward its next big milestone: flight testing.
Dnata to expand Zurich cargo capacity by 50%
With air freight volumes at Zurich Airport remaining robust, Dnata will expand its cargo operations through a new, purpose-built facility at the airport. Dnata handled 56,000 tonnes of cargo in 2025, up nearly 4% year on year. Construction of the new Dnata Cargo Centre is well advanced and forms part of Dnata’s long-term investment in its Zurich operations. The facility is scheduled to open in early 2027. Once operational, Dnata’s annual cargo handling capacity in Zurich will increase by 50%, from 60,000 to 90,000 tonnes. The facility will include 8,330 square metres of warehouse space, of which 7,580 square metres will be dedicated to indoor cargo handling, complemented by 4,600 metres of covered outdoor handling areas. It will replace the existing Fracht West warehouse, originally built in the 1960s. The new facility is being developed by Zurich Airport. Alongside the airport’s investment of more than CHF 40 million in the building infrastructure, Dnata is committing approximately CHF 6 million to equip the site, including the installation of its modern ULD material handling system.
