Air traffic in the Middle East comes to a standstill
Following the coordinated Israeli-U.S. air strikes on Iran on February 28th, international airlines reacted within minutes by scrapping air services to the region or cancelling overflights on routes between Europe and the Far East. Thousands of passengers stranded and masses of air freight remained at departure airports. Iran, Iraq, Israel, Syria, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates all announced at least partial closures of their skies in the hours after smoke began rising over Tehran and Iran began retaliatory attacks in the region. In counterattacks, Iranian missiles hit capital cities around the wealthy Gulf region. The hostilities between the U.S. and Israel on one side and Iran on the other are likely to have caused the most serious crisis for international civil aviation since the end of the coronavirus pandemic.
Strong GAMA New Aircraft Deliveries Power the Global Preowned Market
The International Aircraft Dealers Association (IADA) welcomed continued strength in new aircraft deliveries, as reflected in the General Aviation Manufacturers Association’s (GAMA) State of the Industry Press Conference. Delivery volume and increased values point to sustained momentum and long-term confidence across the business aviation sector. Business jet deliveries rose again in 2025, supported by improving supply-chain performance, strong OEM backlogs, and steady global demand, particularly in the midsize and large-cabin segments. Industry forecasts indicate this upward trajectory is expected to continue through 2026 and into the next decade.
Rising new aircraft deliveries play a critical role in supporting activity in the global preowned business aircraft market. Most new aircraft buyers also sell or trade existing aircraft, reinforcing healthy turnover, disciplined pricing, and liquidity across the resale marketplace, where IADA-Accredited Dealers represent the top tier of professional aircraft sales expertise worldwide.
